Island & Safari

Day 1: Arrival (Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha)

Our representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha where you will stay one night. As local Tanzanians, our guides know the country with unrivalled familiarity, so you’ll be in good hands from the moment you land to the moment you leave. Transfer to Arusha is about a one and a half hour drive.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After enjoying an early breakfast your Guide will meet you at your hotel at 8:00am where you will begin your Safari. We will make our way to Tarangire National park; home to some of the largest Elephant herds in the northern circuit of Tanzania. Here we will being our first “Game Drive” of the trip. After a full day of enjoying wildlife and the sights of the iconic baobab trees, we will exit the park and continue to your accommodation for the night for sunset, dinner and relaxation.   

Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)

After an early wake-up call and breakfast, we will depart from the lodge and we will start our journey to the Serengeti National Park. Roughly a 4-5 hour journey, we will make our way through the town of Karatu and through Ngorongoro Conservation Area which holds spectacular views of the lush highlands, all the way to Serengeti National Park. We will make a stop at the Ngorongoro Crater view point along the way. Once we arrive to Serengeti National Park, our game drive will immediately begin. We will arrive to the lodge in the early evening and relax until dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)

 Enjoy the sounds of the morning birds or quite possibly a lion’s roar as you wake up in the incredible Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, we will depart for a full day game drive in this iconic land. The Serengeti offers everyday opportunities to spot Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife—including big cats— and witness dramatic moments of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. We will search for “The Big 5” and watch the bloats of Hippos as they bathe in the river pool. We will head back to the lodge for a hot lunch, or you can choose the option of lunch boxes while on the game drive if you so wish. We will head back to the lodge in the early evening to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Serengeti plains. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater (Overnight in Karatu)

Enjoy another beautiful morning spent waking up in the Serengeti. We will depart our lodge after an early breakfast for a game drive en-route as we exit the Serengeti and transit to one of the World’s Natural Wonders; Ngorongoro Crater. We will descend the crater and our game drive will take place on the ancient volcanic crater floor, which has the highest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Here you will have the chance to see the endangered black rhino, lions feasting on their prey, African buffalos, wildebeest and more. After a full day of game driving we will make our way to the town of Karatu for another evening of relaxing, eating and overnight at the lodge. This will be your last evening with your Safari Guide and when you can arrange for any gratuities if you so wish. 

Day 6: Transit to Zanzibar (Overnight in Stone Town)

After breakfast, we will depart the lodge and comfortably head to the Manyara Airstrip or Arusha Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar Island. You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel in Stone Town. You can spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities and/or venture out to the cobble stone streets of this quaint and active city to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean.

Day 7: Zanzibar, Stone Town (Overnight in Stone Town)

Today you will spend the day exploring the world heritage site of Stone town. Visitors love to explore the labyrinth of narrow streets, historic buildings and ancient spice markets. Watching the locals of Zanzibar navigate their simple life through the small and unique city of stone town is truly an experience in itself. You will have the chance to do some shopping and purchase souvenirs as there are many markets throughout the streets of Stone Town. In the early evening, you can watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean and visit the famous Forodhani Street Food Gardens to grab a snack and a drink if you desire. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Stone Town. 

Day 8: Zanzibar (Nungwi or Jambiani)

After a relaxing breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel in Stone Town to your hotel in Nungwi or Jambiani (about a 1.5 hour drive), where you will be staying for the remainder of your trip. These areas of Zanzibar are famous for its pristine white sand beaches, water-sport activities and nightlife. You will be able to organize excursions and activities that you would like to take part in, or simply relax and enjoy the hotel amenities and the beautiful beaches that Zanzibar has to offer! All meals will be served at the hotel.

Day 9: Zanzibar (Safari Blue Excursion)

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and embark on the famous Safari Blue excursion. You will take a boat out to where you can snorkel in the clear waters of the reef, and you will make your way to a beautiful hidden sandbank in the middle of the ocean. You will have a fresh seafood lunch on this incredible “island” that is surrounded by pristine turquoise waters. This is truly an excursion of a lifetime! Afterwards, you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner & overnight.

Day 10-13: Zanzibar (Nungwi or Jambiani)

Free day to relax by the pool, explore the beaches or take part in any water-sport activities and excursions. The hotel can arrange any activities or answer questions that you may have. All meals will be served at the hotel. .

Day 14: Departure (Nungwi/Jambiani – Stone town)

You will be picked up from your hotel at a suitable time and transferred to Zanzibar Airport to await your flight departure home or to your next destination.
