Family Adventure Safari

Day 1: Arrival (Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha)

Our representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha where you will stay one night. As local Tanzanians, our guides know the country with unrivaled familiarity, so you’ll be in good hands from the moment you land to the moment you leave. Transfer to Arusha is about a one and a half hour drive.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park (Overnight in Karatu) 

After enjoying an early breakfast your Guide will meet you at your hotel at 8:00 am where you will begin your Safari. We will make our way to the beautiful Tarangire National Park, which is home to some of the biggest elephant herds in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit and home to an abundance of large baobab trees, the signature tree that is native to Africa. We will enjoy a full day of “game driving” here and will stop for a picnic lunch on the park grounds. After, we will make our way to the lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Olduvai Gorge Museum & The Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)

After an early wake-up call and breakfast, we will depart from the lodge or campsite and we will start our journey to the Serengeti National Park. Roughly a 4-5 hour journey, we will make a few stops along the way to break up the journey. We will make our way through the town of Karatu and through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which holds spectacular views of the lush highlands. We will make a stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint to take photos and enjoy this incredible 180-degree view. We will also make a stop at the Olduvai Gorge Museum. This museum is the site of the earliest evidence of human existence. You will see bones of early humans and animals, and artifacts of around 2 million years old. Once we arrive in Serengeti National Park, our game drive will immediately begin and you will have the chance to spot the incredible wildlife in the early hours of the evening. We will then arrive at the lodge and relax until dinner and overnight.

Day 4: The Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)

Enjoy the sounds of the morning birds or quite possibly a lion’s roar as you wake up in the incredible Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, we will depart for a full-day game drive in this iconic land. The Serengeti offers everyday opportunities to spot Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife—including big cats— and witness dramatic moments of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. We will search for “The Big Five” and after we will head back to the lodge to enjoy the evening and catch the sunset over the amazing Serengeti plains. We will relax with a campfire after dinner and if the night sky is clear, witness the magic of the starry night sky.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater 

We will depart early in the morning and being our journey to one of the World’s Natural Wonders; Ngorongoro Crater. As we make our way out of the Serengeti and through to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will witness spectacular lush highlands and have the chance to see the Maasai people with their cattle. We will arrive at Ngorongoro Crater and descend down onto the ancient volcanic crater floor where our game drive will take place. Here, holds the highest concentration of animals in all of Africa. You will have the chance to see the endangered black rhino, lions feasting on their prey, African buffalos, wildebeest, and more. After a full day game drive, we will exit the crater and make our way to the lodge for dinner and overnight. 

Day 6: Maasai Village (Overnight in Arusha)

After breakfast, we will depart from the lodge and make our way to the Maasai Village. Here you will get the chance to interact with the Maasai people and learn about their way of life. After we will stop at some souvenir shops and you will be able to purchase some beautiful handmade items made by the Maasai people. We will make our way back to Arusha where you will stay for your last evening. This is when you will say goodbye to your Safari Guide and prepare any gratuities if you so wish. You will have dinner prepared for you at the lodge.

Day 7: Departure 

You will be picked up from your lodge and transferred to the Airport for your flight departure home or on to your next destination. (*If you choose to extend your safari trip to include the Zanzibar Beach extension package, you will depart for your flight to Zanzibar Island)

Day 7: (continued): Zanzibar, Stone Town (Overnight in Stone Town)

After arriving by flight from Arusha to Zanzibar, you will be transferred to a hotel In Stone Town where you will stay one night. After settling in, you will have the chance to explore the world heritage site of Stone town. Visitors love to explore the labyrinth of narrow streets, historic buildings and ancient spice markets. Watching the locals of Zanzibar navigate their simple life through the small and unique city of Stone Town is truly an experience in itself. You will have the chance to do some shopping and purchase souvenirs as there are many markets throughout. In the early evening, you can watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean and visit the famous Forodhani Street Food Gardens to grab a snack and a drink if you desire. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Stone Town. 

Day 8: Zanzibar (Nungwi or Jambiani)

After a relaxing breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel in Stone Town to your hotel in Nungwi or Jambiani (about a 1.5 hour drive), where you will be staying for the remainder of your trip. These areas of Zanzibar are famous for its pristine white sand beaches, water-sport activities and nightlife. You will be able to organize excursions and activities that you would like to take part in, or simply relax and enjoy the hotel amenities and the beautiful beaches that Zanzibar has to offer! All meals will be served at the hotel.

Day 9: Zanzibar (Safari Blue Excursion)

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and embark on the famous Safari Blue excursion. You will take a boat out to where you can snorkel in the clear waters of the reef, and you will make your way to a beautiful hidden sandbank in the middle of the ocean. You will have a fresh seafood lunch on this incredible “island” that is surrounded by pristine turquoise waters. This is truly an excursion of a lifetime! Afterwards, you will be dropped off at your hotel for dinner & overnight.

Day 10-13: Zanzibar (Nungwi or Jambiani)

Free day to relax by the pool, explore the beaches or take part in any water-sport activities and excursions. The hotel can arrange any activities or answer questions that you may have. All meals will be served at the hotel. 

Day 14: Departure 

You will be picked up from your hotel at a suitable time and transferred to Zanzibar Airport to await your flight departure home or to your next destination.
