What to expect on a Safari Tour?
A typical day on a safari usually starts off early in the morning departing for a game drive after breakfast. A “game drive” is an adventure that entails viewing wildlife from a 4×4 open roof Safari vehicle. You will spend the day witnessing the incredible sights and sounds of the wild animals right before your eyes, in their natural habitat. You will have the chance to take many photographs and allow for the wild to capture you in. About mid-day we take a break to stretch our legs and enjoy a picnic lunch inside national park. After a full day of adventuring, you will have time to relax at the beautiful lodges or camps. Most lodges have swimming pools to enjoy and all have beautiful amenities. You can relax with a few drinks and/or dinner as you watch the sun set. The next day we go out to adventure again!
Day 1: Arrival (Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha)
Our representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and will escort you to your accommodation in Arusha where you will stay one night. As local Tanzanians, our guides know the country with unrivalled familiarity, so you’ll be in good hands from the moment you land to the moment you leave. Transfer to Arusha is about a one and a half hour drive.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)
After waking up to a lovely breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and transferred to the local airstrip where you will catch a mini airplane and fly out to Seronera Airstrip, located in Serengeti National Park. You will be greeted by your Safari Guide who will bring you to the lodge where you will be staying for the next three nights. You will enjoy a nice hot lunch before heading out in the afternoon for your first “Game Drive” of the trip. In the early evening, you will return back to the lodge for dinner, a campfire and overnight.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)
Enjoy the sounds of the morning birds or quite possibly a lion’s roar as you wake up in the incredible Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, we will depart for a full day game drive in this iconic land. The Serengeti offers everyday opportunities to spot Tanzania’s most impressive wildlife—including big cats— and witness dramatic moments of the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. We will head back to the lodge in the early evening to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Serengeti plains. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park (Overnight in Serengeti)
We will leave the lodge early in the morning with a packed breakfast to catch the miraculous sunrise of the Serengeti and to see the Crepuscular animals in action. At noon we will head back to the lodge for a hot lunch and a rest. In the the late afternoon, we will venture out for for a nice evening game drive to catch more of the incredible Great Migration. We will enjoy the sun set into the savannah en-route and will celebrate this incredible moment with champagne or cold drinks and some snacks. We will be back at the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Karatu
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip where you will await your flight that will take you to Manyara Lake Airport. You will be greeted at the airport and taken to the African Galleria to enjoy a nice lunch and you will have the chance to admire the beautiful Tanzanian arts and sculptures, tanzanite gemstones and purchase an array of eclectic Tanzanian souvenirs. You will then be taken to your lodge/ camp in Karatu. Today will be spent outside of the safari vehicle as you will have the chance to explore the surrounding areas nature trails by foot. Climb the escarpments to take in the incredible views of the rift valley and Lake Manyara or if you prefer, you can have an easy relaxing afternoon and evening by the pool. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater (Overnight in Serengeti)
After breakfast, we will depart from the lodge in Karatu and head to one of the World’s Natural Wonders; Ngorongoro Crater. The game drive will take place on the ancient volcanic crater floor, which has the highest concentration of animals in all of Africa. Here you will have the chance to see the endangered black rhino, lions feasting on their prey, African buffalos, wildebeest and more. We will exit the crater in the late afternoon and make our way back to the lodge/ camp in time to watch the sunset. Enjoy a campfire, dinner and drinks as you take in your last evening of the safari.
